Ahmed Easa
Former Member of the People’s Majlis (2019–2024) • Kendhikulhudhoo, Noonu Atoll
Ahmed Easa is a Maldivian public servant and community advocate whose work centers on practical improvements to daily life: reliable public services, fair access to opportunities, and transparent, accountable government. Elected to the 19th People’s Majlis (2019–2024) for Kendhikulhudhoo (Noonu Atoll), he approached politics as a service profession: listen first, act quickly, and report back clearly. In Parliament and on the ground, Easa built working relationships with ministries, local councils, schools, health providers, and civil society to move issues from complaint to solution.
His constituency work emphasized three pillars. Public services & affordability: helping residents navigate agencies, unblock delays, and keep essential services dependable and fair. Jobs, skills & small business: encouraging practical training, youth opportunities, and collaboration with local enterprises. Good governance: promoting openness in decision-making, careful use of public funds, and clear communication so people understand what is changing and why.
In 2024, Easa served as parliamentary campaign spokesperson for the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), drawing on his preference for evidence-based messaging and respectful, issue-focused debate. He remains active in constituency organising and stakeholder coordination in Kendhikulhudhoo, bringing together residents and institutions to identify problems early, compare options, and choose approaches that fit local realities.
Easa’s way of working is straightforward: meet people where they are, turn concerns into concrete actions, and follow through. He hosts regular office hours and community forums, uses written follow ups to track progress with agencies, and prioritizes transparency, celebrating wins openly and explaining constraints honestly. Across roles, he aims to reduce complexity for citizens, making government more responsive and easier to navigate.
Beyond day to day casework, Easa advocates for cooperation across parties and institutions. He believes durable progress relies on respect, good information, and shared purpose, values he brings to legislative drafting support, committee briefings, and community dialogues alike.
